Hypnotherapy for Growth and Transformation

What to expect at your first session

I will use the information we discuss during your free initial consultation to develop your personalised hypnotherapy plan, focused on your desired change. We will then discuss and agree your plan at the beginning of your first appointment. Your first appointment and initial sessions will last one hour.

You will be guided into relaxation and a hypnotic trance using gentle words and phrases, but you will always be in control and have nothing to fear. Following your hypnotherapy session, you will be out of hypnotic trance feeling relaxed, calm and refreshed. We will discuss together and collaboratively decide on the next steps of your plan, depending on the issue you wish to resolve and the number of sessions we have agreed and agree on your treatment goals.

Weight Management

Hypnotherapy for Weight Management can help you to feel more confident about your body, help you to change any negative thoughts you may have about food, and help you develop a more positive relationship with food and exercise.

During our initial consultation and subsequent sessions we will work together to formulate a bespoke weight management programme which suits your own individual needs.  

Using hypnosis and NLP techniques, the sessions will be designed to empower you to take control of your choices, and to look at breaking any negative thought patterns you may hold towards certain foods, and any negative eating habits which you may have developed on a sub-conscious level.

We will focus on your goals which we will set together and look at each session and help you to set realistic targets based on the level of fitness and health you wish to achieve, and help you to develop your self-confidence in relation to your perception of body image.

Managing Stress

We live in a society where great demands and responsibilities are placed on us and are constantly changing. About one in seven people are suffering from stress or anxiety at any one time in the UK and while some people manage, more and more people are showing signs of being overwhelmed due to high levels of stress and anxiety, and have feelings of not being able to cope or not being in control.

If left unchecked, both stress and anxiety can significantly impact the quality of our life and our general well-being. High levels of stress can impact negatively on our sleep and our eating and drinking habits, it can also cause muscular tension, headaches and stomach problems such as IBS.

In our initial consultation and during our Stress Management sessions, we will identify the causes of stress in your life and how that stress is triggered. Using hypnosis, relaxation techniques and breath work we will work together to calm the mind and relax the body, enabling a deep relaxation state to be accessed. 

We will look at giving you a “tool box” to help you manage stress more effectively. Audio MP3’s will be included in the sessions as well as the teaching of self-hypnosis, to help you manage your stress in a healthy and realistic way.

Dealing with Anxiety

You may be constantly worried, over thinking almost every situation, unable to relax. You may also be avoiding social situations and distressed about controlling your feelings meaning you cannot live life the way you want. Anxiety can be very debilitating and very draining, and if left unchecked it can limit what we feel we can and can’t do in our life.   

Anxiety may be rooted in a previous experience, relate to a specific activity or situation or be generalised in nature, where there is no apparent trigger or cause. It can manifest in different situations such as a fear of being around other people, anxiety in social situations, tension in relationships at home, school or work. Exams and tests can be a great source of anxiety as can having our performance at observed through public speaking, observations or presentations.

Hypnosis for anxiety can be effective, as it creates a state of deep relaxation. In all anxiety conditions, there is one common factor – getting a stress response in situations where it is not necessary. It is the stress response that is responsible for the physical symptoms experienced in the body.

During our initial consultation and in our subsequent sessions, we will look together at how you experience anxiety, looking at the causes or triggers, and look at reducing the symptoms using a range of different techniques including hypnosis, NLP and relaxation techniques and breath work. I will also teach you self-hypnosis and give you MP3 recordings to listen to at home to reinforce the work we do in our sessions, enabling you to deal and manage your anxiety effectively.

Fears and Fobias

We all have fear in our life, fear is a natural and healthy response to danger and it is designed to keep us safe. Phobias however are different, they are more intense than fears and can restrict a person’s life, holding them back from doing what they want and causing a lot of stress, destress and anxiety. They can lead to severe anxiety and panic attacks for some people. There are many phobias, common phobias include fear of the dark, fear of dogs, fear of flying, fear of blood and fear of going to the dentist.

Phobias are learned responses to specific situations or objects and exist in our subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy can be an effective tool to help you unlearn the fear response, build up your exposure to the phobia and in work with the anxiety which is associated with the phobia.

During our initial consultation we will talk about your phobia and may spent some time getting to the root of the phobia to remember the event that triggered it. Using hypnosis and other techniques we will look at gently confronting the phobia whilst in a calm state and changing our response to it.

The number of sessions this will take will different from person to person. Some people are able to cope after one session, while others will need more sessions depending on the severity of the phobia. I will also teach you self-hypnosis and relaxation techniques for you to continue the work you have done and to help you manage your anxiety in the long term.

Breaking Bad Habits

There is a fine line between habit and addiction, and if crossed a habit can easily turn into an addiction. An addiction is an extreme form of habit, and the fine line ends when a person loses control over the act and it becomes something the body needs.

Almost all of us have unwanted habits that we would like to get rid of. Habits can include nail biting and over checking our phone, other habits like smoking or an addiction to sugar can lead to problems in later life and even ill health.

If you have an unwanted habit which you would like to break, hypnotherapy could help. The way that your mind works is that the choices that you make are motivated by patterns within your subconscious. By changing these patterns, it is possible to end the habits that you currently have by in essence changing the way that you think. Once these patterns are broken, you can change the way you feel about the habits that you have, and effectively stop them in a short amount of time.

Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy

If you are looking to stop smoking or vaping and have decided that now is the time, our Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy programme could help. The ultimate aim of the Stop Smoking Programme is to empower people to take control of their addiction and improve their own physical health.

Even when we are aware of the detrimental effects smoking can have on our health, it can still be very difficult quitting a long term habit. However, hypnotherapy has for a number of people become an effective treatment to stop. It works on breaking down the negative behaviours and thoughts associated with smoking, and deals with the underlying issues of why we smoke and why we find it difficult to give up.

During our free initial consultation, you will have the opportunity to ask and questions about the Stop Smoking Programme. If you feel that hypnotherapy could help you, and you are ready to give up we can start the Stop Smoking Programme which consists of 2 extended sessions each lasting 1.5hours long.

The sessions will focus on the change in attitude and mindset of being a smoker to being a non-smoker. I will also provide you with MP3 recordings to help reinforce hypnotherapy work which we do in our sessions and teach you self-hypnosis. This means that when a potential trigger occurs, you know how to cope with the feeling long after your sessions are over.

Life Changes

There are times in our life when we get “stuck”, stuck in a job which we’re not enjoying, stuck in a relationship which is no longer making us happy, stuck in ourselves, bored and frustrated, at a crossroads and unsure what to do next. Pain Management & Self-Care

There are many causes of long-term pain, including conditions such as arthritis, IBS and fibromyalgia. Concerns like this require medical intervention and a pain management treatment plan. For many, complementary approaches such as hypnotherapy can form part of this plan.

The basic premise of hypnotherapy for pain management is to change the way individuals perceive pain messages in order to reduce the intensity of what they are feeling. By helping to reduce stress and change the thought patterns related to pain can therefore make a huge difference to pain perception.
